Enjoy your holiday in Tofta on Gotland, a vacation paradise you won’t soon forget! You’ll stay in a cozy guest cottage set on a lush garden property in Gnisvärd, a part of Tofta known for its proximity to some of Gotland’s finest beaches. The cottage is just a stone’s throw from Tofta Strandbageri, excellent transportation options, and all that Tofta has to offer. Bicycles are available for borrowing, and the owner can even arrange a fishing trip by boat upon request! Don’t miss out on this gem!

In the charming area of beautiful Tofta, you’ll find this guest cottage with a friendly host couple living in the neighboring house. The accommodation is both comfortable and welcoming, featuring open social spaces and a pleasant outdoor patio. You’ll enter a spacious, open room with high ceilings that combines the living area with a sofa and TV, a cozy dining table, and a fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom is modern, with a shower, washing machine, and drying cabinet. On the ground floor, there’s a bedroom with a double bed, while upstairs, there are two bedrooms, each with two single beds. Outside, you’ll find a charcoal grill, inviting outdoor furniture, and parking for two cars.

Bicycles are available to borrow – perfect for a trip down to the sea for a swim or a magical sunset. The owner can also arrange a fishing trip by boat upon request, which can be booked directly on-site with them.

You’ll enjoy a luxurious proximity to a stunning coastline, including Gnisvärd's fishing village, the restaurant Broman & Son, and Gnisvärd Beach – a magical, family-friendly sandy beach with sand as soft as powder. Gnisvärd Beach connects to Tofta Beach, which features a beach house, convenience store, several restaurants, music events, and much more. Opening hours may vary depending on the season.

The location of this accommodation makes it an ideal base for exploring everything Gotland has to offer, from north to south. There are excellent bus connections and bike paths. The west coast of Gotland is breathtaking, and as you head further south, you’ll reach the Eksta coastline and Karlsöarna Islands, followed by Burgsvik and the famous Hoburgsgubben rock formation. Children often love a visit to Kneippbyn – Pippi Longstocking’s summer and water park – as well as Gotland’s Wildlife Park, both of which are located nearby. A must-see is the old town of Visby, where you can stroll through cobblestone streets, explore ruins, dine at restaurants, shop in boutiques, and walk along the medieval city wall steeped in fascinating history. At the northern tip of Gotland lies Fårö, where you can admire incredible limestone formations at Digerhuvud and swim at Sudersand and Ekeviken beaches.

Sweden is water, water and water

Sweden has been admitted to UNESCO's list of world heritage for its unique coastline. Middle and north of Sweden have countless rivers, lakes and streams criss-crossing the country. Sometimes you get the feeling that the country is swimming with only forests and fields acting as links between rivers and lakes. This is particular noticeable for the middle part of Sweden where the ice age left plain tracks. Thousands of lakes fill the gorges created when the ice retracted to the North.

At the exact place where the river Mälaren with fresh water meets the salt water from the Baltic you will find Stockholm spread across 14 islands and islets. But there is more: The Stockholm skerries just a few minutes sailing from the capital is comprised by a total of 24.000 islands and islets.

The Siljan lake is located in the middle part of Sweden called Dalarna. The lake and the surrounding towns are regarded as the historical centre of the country. From here, Sweden gradually becomes more raw and deserted. In Norrland, the only sound you hear in the enormous forests is from the roaring rivers.

For centuries, the rivers have been used for transporting logs to the coast. And where the rivers flow into the ocean is where the first settlements were founded several thousands of years ago. Midsummer in Sweden

The midsummer party in Sweden is truly unique. To many it is a symbol of the lightness, the light and the life force symbolic of the Nordic summer. Midsummer in Sweden is the biggest celebration of solstice in Scandinavia.

When the most Swedish of Swedish parties approach, the whole country is exited. Midsummer is traditionally a feast celebrated with family and friends, but if you are a tourist you are welcome to join the festivities. It is celebrated all over the country - by the coast, in the skerries, by idyllic lakes, in the mountains or one of the islands. All is good, as long as there is plenty of pristine and diverse nature around.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
