About the holiday home

Just a stone’s throw from the sea, on Öregrund’s northwestern cape, you have the opportunity to stay in a very charming accommodation with one of Öregrund’s absolute best locations! Centrally situated within walking distance to everything Öregrund has to offer, including shops, restaurants, cafés, and unbeatable proximity to beautiful swimming spots, the ferry to Gräsö, and, above all, this stunning archipelago nature. Start your day with a refreshing dip in the sea before setting out to explore the summer idyll of Öregrund and all its hidden gems that simply must be experienced!

This former B&B, dating back to the early 1800s, is now available for you to enjoy privately. It features a fantastic garden and friendly hosts who live in one part of the house, though with a separate and secluded layout. Finding accommodation this close to the sea is rare, with a beautiful park just outside. You’ll stay comfortably in a two-story home with a spacious hallway leading to a cozy living room, continuing into a kitchen and separate dining room, where you can also watch TV if desired. There is plenty of space for the entire group. The hallway also includes a separate shower area and a separate WC.

Upstairs, you are welcomed by an additional living room that connects to three comfortable bedrooms—one with a double bed overlooking the garden, and the other two featuring twin beds with views either of the harbor or the garden. There is also a bathroom on this floor with a shower and WC.

You’ll be staying in a lush garden with various seating areas surrounded by beautiful flowers and bushes. Enjoy a delicious breakfast outdoors, or simply close your eyes and relax to the peaceful sounds of birdsong. Right outside your accommodation, you have everything you need and more—magical coastal stretches inviting you to swim and take in the tranquil views. Stroll along the waterfront and through the charming alleyways to discover your own favorite spots. If you wish to dine out, several restaurants are located just 200 meters away by the harbor. Take the opportunity to make a trip to Gräsö via a free car ferry that only takes a few minutes. Families with children might enjoy a visit to Berkingebadet, an adventure water park with water slides and diving towers. Tallparken is also worth a visit—a recreational area featuring paddle and tennis courts, playgrounds, and a sandy beach.

Important Information: Bed linens are included, but towels are not. Youth groups are not permitted. During week 31, each guest must pay a deposit of 3,000 SEK per person. The accommodation is part of a larger house where the owners live in one section, and you as guests stay in the other, with privacy ensured.

Sweden is water, water and water

Sweden has been admitted to UNESCO's list of world heritage for its unique coastline. Middle and north of Sweden have countless rivers, lakes and streams criss-crossing the country. Sometimes you get the feeling that the country is swimming with only forests and fields acting as links between rivers and lakes. This is particular noticeable for the middle part of Sweden where the ice age left plain tracks. Thousands of lakes fill the gorges created when the ice retracted to the North.

At the exact place where the river Mälaren with fresh water meets the salt water from the Baltic you will find Stockholm spread across 14 islands and islets. But there is more: The Stockholm skerries just a few minutes sailing from the capital is comprised by a total of 24.000 islands and islets.

The Siljan lake is located in the middle part of Sweden called Dalarna. The lake and the surrounding towns are regarded as the historical centre of the country. The midsummer party in Sweden is truly unique. To many it is a symbol of the lightness, the light and the life force symbolic of the Nordic summer. Midsummer in Sweden is the biggest celebration of solstice in Scandinavia.

When the most Swedish of Swedish parties approach, the whole country is exited. Midsummer is traditionally a feast celebrated with family and friends, but if you are a tourist you are welcome to join the festivities. It is celebrated all over the country - by the coast, in the skerries, by idyllic lakes, in the mountains or one of the islands. All is good, as long as there is plenty of pristine and diverse nature around.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
